About Dr. Karla
Dr. Karla enjoys helping and encouraging people to find their true potential. In her life, she is always striving to be “Better than Yesterday” and encourages others to do the same. In a society where upwards towards 90% of people sit all day at work, teaching people how to move properly is one of the best gifts a doctor can give. As a Chiropractor and a coach in the Fargo-Moorhead area, she appreciates working with people who may be overcoming an old injury and finding ways to teach them how to move differently and more effectively to avoid future injuries. She has the ability to instill functional movements into the young and old alike.
She was born and raised in Barnesville, Minnesota and pursued a pre-medicine undergraduate degree at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and majored in Biology and Exercise Physiology. Karla graduated with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic West and Summa Cume Laude from Logan University with a Master’s Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation.
Since then, she has become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), obtained her International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD), Chiropractic Acupuncture certificate, Level 1&2 CrossFit trainer Certification and she is a Level 2 USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach.
She looks forward to helping you be "better than yesterday".

I contacted Dr. Karla in March 2016 looking to improve my nutrition habits and lose extra body fat and wow, what a change it has been for the better. Dr. Karla made it clear from the start that it would be a non-starvation plan and that couldn’t be more true. I never knew I could eat so much food and lose weight! In the last six months, I’ve lost over 35 pounds while still maintaining strength and improving fitness, and have learned the importance of always having healthy foods prepared so it’s easy to make good decisions. Dr. Karla has worked with my individual food preferences and adjusted my plan as my body has changed. Many people give up on diets because they are unrealistic but it’s been easy to stick with my plan because I am well fueled. Another benefit has been having better energy throughout the day and no afternoon slump. I am thankful for the help in learning healthy habits I can maintain for life and look forward to reaching more health and fitness goals!
"When I went to see Karla in October of 2013, I was coming off of a productive yet injury prone season where I missed close to 20 games due to a hamstring injury. This hamstring injury stuck with me the entire season and I was never able to play without pain.
"In our first meeting, Karla did a couple of tests to check my mobility in my lower half. After about 5 minutes she saw that my SI joint was locked up and it made my hamstring do extra work. My hips were extremely tight and they were causing the rest of my body to feel like crap. After working with Karla for a couple months, she not only loosened my hips but also showed me exercises to maintain my hip mobility.
"This past 2014 season was the best I’ve ever had. It was just the fact that I played extremely well and eventually made my major league debut in August, but it was the fact that I was healthy for the whole season. I made sure to do all of my daily stretches that Karla showed me and I’m convinced that is what kept me on the field for all 143 games."
"Dr. Karla is one of the hardest working, most selfless people I know. In the year that I visited her she kept me healthy-- she treated my injuries, prevented others, and was always looking for best practices to optimize my performance.
"She's a magic-worker and exceptional at her craft! But what really makes Dr. Karla stand apart is her empathy. She's active and an athlete, which means she understands your goals and listens to your needs.
"She goes above and beyond to connect with her patients. She managed my aches and pains, kept me sane, and helped me to perform at my best. Thanks, Dr. Karla!"
